Seminar Overview
“Three Areas of Stewardship in the Church” is a 60-minute seminar designed to equip pastors to faithfully manage the financial life of their churches. We will look at three areas of stewardship every church carries, identify 3 common problems in each, and walk through 3 practical solutions for each. The goal is to send pastors home with clear, actionable steps rather than abstract theory.
The 3 areas include the church staff, the congregation, and the church as a 501(c)(3) organization. We begin with stewardship of the staff, where many well-meaning churches unknowingly mishandle minister compensation. We cover clergy tax status, the housing allowance, and payroll practices that can quietly cost a pastor's family or even create compliance problems. From there, we turn to the congregation, looking at how to disciple people toward generosity and healthier personal finances. Finally, we transition to the church's responsibilities as a nonprofit corporation, including good governance, internal controls, and investing for the long-term. The heart of the seminar is that stewardship isn't a once-a-year campaign. Instead, stewardship is the daily, faithful management of everything God has placed under the leaders’ charge.
