This workshop is designed to train the local church laity and leadership how to not only attract first time guests, but also how to fully assimilate them into the life of the local church. When your visitor flow is down, it is difficult to increase in attendance and membership. When assimilation systems are ignored or non-existent, the chance of turning around a declining church is rare. During this workshop, you will be provided with the practical steps that will allow you to develop an environment of acceptance and invitation.  The end result of the days experience will be to learn the tools necessary to develop your own customized assimilation strategy.

Making a Transition in Worship

This workshop is focused around The Worship Celebration Manual written by Dr. Cheyney. Music is always changing and the church must stay in touch with those changes in music affecting the church. Music and worship was never designed to create division.  Scripture makes it clear that true worship will always unify.  As styles, methods, and trends develop, the church must learn how to effectively handle transitions in worship.

Church Change: The New Ingredient for Survival

Church change is all around us. Those who embrace it and work through the issues come out on the other side more able to keep the church from rapidly declining and struggling to keep the doors open. Those who avoid change will struggle to remain valid to the community it is ministering. This training event is designed for those who are wanting to take their church to the next level and are willing to consider the necessary ideas which will help their church.

How to Merge One Church with Another: Is it Right for You?

Before jumping into a merger, each congregation needs to take a “hard look” at who they are and what vision(s) they have for themselves as a church. The congregations also need to assess their motivation, readiness, willingness and suitability for a merger. All alternatives to merging should be explored. The churches considering a merger need to find out if they will be compatible. Each congregation has its own unique “congregational culture” and it is important to seek the advice of someone trained in the field of church mergers. This one morning consult will provide churches with Dr. Cheyney’s Church Mergers Manual to help them navigate the issues as they move towards merging with another church.

Love Your Neighbor and Share Christ

Total Church Evangelism is the goal. Transforming a plateaued or declining church to be a thriving and growing body is the end result. Contextual growth strategies are studied then applied into a day-to-day ministry. Our staff will provide a workshop environment for pastors in which they can develop a personalized evangelism strategy for their church. Focus will be given to each of the components of the Love Your Neighbor Share Christ Strategy. Implementation will also include budget startup assistance for associations using this LYN-SC process.
