Dr. Joel Breidenbaugh

Dr. Breidenbaugh has more than 30 years of preaching and pastoral ministry experience and 25 years of teaching in higher education. A native of Vincennes, Indiana, Joel obtained a BA in Theology from the Baptist University of Florida; advanced Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy (majoring in Preaching with minors in Baptist History and New Testament Greek) from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. His dissertation was on "Integrating Doctrine and Expository Preaching: A Proposal and an Analysis for the Twenty-First Century." 

Dr. Breidenbaugh has preached the gospel in nearly two dozen countries and has trained thousands of students in such schools as Liberty University, Moody Bible Institute, Grand Canyon University, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and more, including Gospel Centered Bible College in SE Asia. Moreover, Joel has written dozens of scholarly articles in The Encyclopedia of Christianity in the United States; the Popular Encyclopedia of Apologetics; and the Journal of Florida Baptist Heritage. His books include Preaching for Bodybuilding; The Joy of Jesus at Christmas; and Friend, I Want to Hear Your Jesus Story. Joel has been married to Annthea since 1996, and they have 5 children, 3 children-in-law, and 2 grandchildren.

Dr. James Hamilton

Dr. Hamilton has served as Professor of Old Testament Interpretation and Biblical Theology since 2008. Before coming to Southern, Hamilton served as assistant professor of biblical studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary’s Houston campus and was the preaching pastor at Baptist Church of the Redeemer. Hamilton is currently the senior pastor at Kenwood Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. He is married to Jillian, and they have five children.

Dr. Stephen Wellum

Dr. Stephen Wellum is Editor of The Southern Baptist Journal of Theology and Professor of Christian Theology. Wellum came to Southern Seminary from Associated Canadian Theological Schools and Northwest Baptist Theological College and Seminary where he had taught theology since 1996. Dr. Wellum is married to Karen, and they have five children. Wellum is an elder at Faith Community Church in Prospect, Kentucky.
